Luminate Education Group CEO to step down

Luminate Education Group consists of Leeds City College, Keighley College, Harrogate College, Leeds Sixth Form College, Pudsey Sixth Form College, University Centre Leeds and Leeds Conservatoire.

Colin Booth, the chief executive of Luminate Education Group, has announced his decision to step down from his role and retire at the end of the year

Under Booth’s leadership, Luminate Education Group has grown into one of the largest groups of post-16 providers in the country, transforming lives across Yorkshire through education.

Luminate Education Group consists of Leeds City College, Keighley College, Harrogate College, Leeds Sixth Form College, Pudsey Sixth Form College, University Centre Leeds and Leeds Conservatoire.

Booth has had a 40 year career in education and was previously vice principal at Newcastle College, before being appointed as principal and CEO of Barnsley College and then principal and CEO of Leeds City College Group in 2015. Leeds City College Group later became the Luminate Education Group.

Booth said: “I’m incredibly proud of everything we have achieved together at Luminate as a team of staff and leaders and together with all of our key partners. Our collective efforts have not only ensured the continued success of our institutions but have also had a profound impact on the communities we serve.”

Luminate is currently seeking Booths’ replacement with applications for the CEO role set to close on 5 May .
